Psilocybin and Joy

Psilocybin doesn't just heal trauma or expand consciousness.

Sometimes it just makes you… fun again.

Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, you stopped laughing at dumb jokes. You stopped finding joy in small things.

You got serious. Efficient. Goal-oriented.

Then psilocybin shows up and reminds you: Why did you agree to that?

Decision fatigue is the mental exhaustion that builds up after making too many decisions.

Then one day your friend says something stupid and you actually laugh. Not polite. Real. Your stomach hurts.

You notice how good coffee tastes. Your dog being dumb is hilarious. A terrible pun feels genius.

Your sense of humor comes back online.

The way your cat walks. Cloud shapes. The fact that humans decided milk in coffee works. Traffic chaos. The randomness of existence.

Instead of being depressed by it, you’re amused by it.

You suddenly see how hard you’ve been on yourself for being human. How pointless some of your worries were. How confusing it is to be a conscious animal on a spinning rock.

And instead of existential dread, it’s oddly comforting.

When you stop being so serious, everything improves.

Your friendships lighten. You’re actually present with people. You laugh together more. You’re more forgiving.

Your creativity explodes because joy is creative fuel. When you’re playful and amused, ideas flow. You write better, decide better, connect better.

You’re kinder because you’re not so defended. You’re more creative because you’re not so controlled.

Before you became responsible and serious, you were fun.

You laughed easily. You were curious. You found joy in small things.

Psilocybin doesn’t give you that back—it reminds you that you never lost it.

It was just buried under years of “I should be more serious,” “This is important,” “Happiness comes later.”

One day you’re microdosing and realize: I could be having fun right now.

Psilocybin gets credit for mystical experiences and deep insights.

But the real magic is simpler: It gives you permission to be happy right now.

Not when things are perfect. Not when you’ve achieved enough. Right now.

With your messy life and confusing emotions and weird sense of humor and completely imperfect self.

That permission changes everything.

Decision fatigue isn't a sign of weakness. It's just how your brain works.

It’s that you stop waiting for happiness and start having it.

Not someday. Today. With your confused, beautiful, ridiculous self.

And suddenly life becomes a lot more fun.
